Dr. M. Safiur RahmanPhD Bio Dr. Rahman is currently a research associate in the Faculty of Engineering at Dalhousie University, Canada. He has extensive research experience at Dalhousie University (2005-present) and St. Mary’s University (during 2004-2005). He has lectured worldwide and written some 70 research papers, book chapters, and one book. His expertise is in the areas of petroleum cleanup, water management, and environmental restoration. Before coming to Canada, Dr. Rahman worked as a scientist for Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) from 2000 to 2005. During that period, Dr. Rahman carried out research works related to the distribution and environmental impacts of toxic trace elements in surface and ground water of Bangladesh. He has got experience of working with the scientists of U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), International Atomic Energy (IAEA). Dr. Rahman received his MASc and PhD in Environmental Engineering at Dalhousie University, Canada. He has B.Sc., M.Sc. and M.Phil Degrees in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Rajshahi University, Bangladesh, where he was the recipient of “Gold Medal” in recognition of his distinguished academic accomplishments. Dr. Rahman is a member of Association of Professional Engineers of Nova Scotia (APENS), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), American Water Work Association (AWWA), Canadian Water Network (CWN), Bangladesh Chemical Society (BCS), Bangladesh Atomic Energy Scientists Association (BAESA), and Asiatic Society of Bangladesh (ASB).
